Hello! Happy Monday and BEDIO everyone!
Since it’s the beginning of the week, it’s time for another Free Write Monday 🥳
As I share these prompts, feel free to try them out yourself and share your work! Whether it’s linking to your post or just writing it out in a comment, I’d love to see what you come up with (:
Once again, here is the Tumblr page I’ve been referencing, which has 50 prompts related to fall. Check it out so you can follow along, or try out some of the other prompts!
PROMPT: Decorating the front door with autumn wreaths.

I ran my hand along the fabric of the synthetic leaves that made up the wreath laying in the box in front of me. The faint scent of cinnamon and old wood swirled around me, welcoming me into an embrace with an old friend. Placing both hands on either side, I lifted it up, the orange and yellow leaves catching the light of the afternoon sun as I hung it up on my door.
It’s a tradition that started with my grandma making this wreath as I sat beside her on the floor, playing with the discarded leaves that drifted down next to my feet. When she finished, she picked it up off the table and headed towards the front door, me scurrying after her, full of excitement. After she hung it on the front door, she looked down at me, smiling big enough that I could see the gap in her teeth from having one of her molars removed.
That same smile played across my face, as I tilted my head to look down into the sparkling eyes of my own granddaughter. She met my gaze and giggled, reaching for my hand. I took her hand into my own, and we turned our sight back on to the old wreath, once again hanging on the door to bring in the autumn season.
And that’s all I have for today’s Free Write Monday! Thanks for stopping by, and I will see you tomorrow with a new post!
