Hello everyone, I hope you’ve had a good start to your weekend! In honor of the spooky season, I want to talk about one of my favorite Youtube channels to watch: Top 5’s. October is also when he does his Creepy Marathon Month, where videos are posted everyday, so there’s a lot of new content on there to check out if you want to get into the Halloween spooky mood!

The Top 5’s Youtube channel covers topics ranging from the paranormal, to serial killers, to missing persons cases, conspiracy theories, mythical creatures and everything in between. Some videos that he’s put out recently are: Top 5 Paranormal Encounters and Stories: Prison Edition, 5 Fascinating Questions, Answers and Mysteries about Mortality, and 5 Crimes Actually SOLVED on Google Maps and Google Earth. He also does post videos telling scary stories and reading from the r/no sleep thread, which I don’t usually watch but if you’re interested in those types of videos, those are there as well.
He’s my favorite list channel when it comes to these topics, because not only does he have an awesome narration voice, but he also is respectful about the subjects he covers, especially when it comes to the topics of missing persons cases and murder investigations.
I first started watching Top 5’s a few years ago, because I found his paranormal videos entertaining. I’ve always been a sucker for paranormal/ ghost hunting shows, despite how easy it is to fake (and how often) the evidence of paranormal activity. There’s something fun about having that suspension of disbelief and thinking about all the “What if’s…?”
Maybe it’s just the writer in me, but imagining the stories and hearing about the history of some of these haunted locations also fascinated me. There’s a story behind why every ghost has stayed behind to haunt.
Now, I don’t watch as many ghost hunting or paranormal themed shows, but there are other videos on Top 5’s channel that I’m more interested in currently. One of my favorite series by him is the Murderous Minds series. Each video is essentially a mini documentary about a serial killer/ killers, and in my opinion, is a good place to start if you want to learn more about them. The Murderous Mind videos give a good overview about the crimes committed, the background of the serial killer and I would say is a good starting point if you want to learn more about a specific serial killer.ย I specifically remember watching the video about Jeffrey Dahmer because he was a serial killer that I had heard of before, and had a vague idea of his crimes, but the Murderous Minds video gave a more in depth explanation of all the murders he committed.
Here’s the video below if you want to check it out:

Top 5’s is one of those channels where I love to watch as many of his new videos as possible when they first come out. My favorite thing to do is get cozy in my bed at night, with my cup of tea and just watch a few at a time. At least, this is fun until I have to get up to brush my teeth, and I’m afraid someone’s going to jump out and murder me at some point ๐
He also helps host a couple other channels for specific topics, such as cold case files (Cold Case Detective) and more in depth videos about UFOS, aliens and conspiracies (Destination Declassified).
If you want to check these channels out, here’s the introduction video for each one:
