Hey everyone, I hope you’ve been having a great weekend!
When I’m not reading and writing, one of my guilty pleasures is spending countless hours on YouTube. Recently, I’ve been watching more October themed videos, so in other words, more spooky/horror content. Today, I want to highlight a few of my favorite channels and videos to watch, whether it’s more on the creepy side, or with a more comedic twist (I know not everyone likes watching scary videos, so I figure it’s good to balance it out with a little humor).
Now, here are my current favorite channels for…
ππ»β πOctober 2020 πβ π»π
We’ll go ahead and start off with something funny! For those of you who are into movie commentators/reactors, I recommend Dylan is in Trouble. I’ve been watching Dylan’s content for awhile, and it’s perfect for those times when I need a humorous pick me up. Another aspect of his commentary I really like is how he discusses the actual shots, design and other details that go into a movie, and why certain shots work out better than others (so if you’re into that kind of stuff, he’s a great channel to watch!). He recently uploaded a video of him reacting to the first Paranormal Activity, and as someone who has already seen the movie, his commentary was hilarious to me.
If you’re into true crime and makeup, and haven’t watched any Bailey Sarian videos, you need to right now! I’m actually not into makeup that much (I’m too lazy to deal with it, to be honest), but I still enjoy watching people do make up looks, and with Bailey discussing different murderers/criminals from more modern day cases to more historical ones (the video I linked above is a case from the 1600s), it adds an interesting twist to a normal makeup tutorial. She has a great personality, awesome makeup skills, and I love how she discusses the cases in a more casual manner, so it feels more like a conversation between Bailey and her audience. I know she’s a bigger channel, but I would 100% recommend checking her out, if you haven’t already!
This next video is a little different, but I listen to more ambient type videos while I work (in fact, this is what I’m listening to right now while writing this post). If you’re someone who needs background noise while working, but can’t concentrate when listening to music, these videos are perfect! I love the sound of rain, and with this particular video, I enjoy the Halloween/Fall ambiance, especially since I live in Southern California, and we don’t really have a Fall, or Winter π (Legit, it finally cooled down to a nice 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit this past week).
This second video posted below is more of an ASMR type video, so if you’re into that and like the more animated video style, this is a great choice as well π
If you’re into list videos, especially concerning the paranormal, true crime, aliens, and more, Top 5’s is the channel for you. They also do other type of video content as well, and have a podcast/other channels covering different topics. I already talked about this channel in length before (including other types of content on the channel besides list videos), but right now, they’re doing a Creepy Marathon Month, where they post a video everyday in the month of October. This channel is more on the creepy side, so beware when watching their videos β
And that’s it for today’s post! What are some of your favorite things to watch during the month of October (doesn’t have to be on YouTube, it can be a show/movie!)? Let me know in the comments below!
Thank you for reading today’s post, and I will see you tomorrow with something new π»
