Unpopular Opinions Book Tag

Hello, and welcome back to another post! For whatever reason, I find the beginning of the year to be a tough time to post content, so I’m trying to break out of that pattern and hopefully post twice in March ๐Ÿคž

Erin Note: Wow…I just barely made it!

Anyways, this is a tag I found in my drafts, and I decided to go ahead and fill it out! I found this version of the Unpopular Opinions Book Tag I found on Strange Storyteller’s blog back in 2020… so yeah, it’s been a couple of years ๐Ÿ˜‚

On that note, let’s get into the tag!

NOTE #1: Something weird happened with WordPress when saving this doc, so I don’t know if all of the questions are here or what I had originally… so this will be interesting ๐Ÿ‘Œ

NOTE # 2:Turns out half the questions were missing since I did the smart thing and just checked the original post… so there ya go. ๐Ÿ˜‚

A popular book or series everyone seems to love but you hate

Alright, so I’m going to caveat this and say that I didn’t hate the book, but I was not as caught up in the magic as other people seem to have been, and that is Howl’s Moving Castle. I loved the movie, but the book was just okay for me.

A popular book or series everyone seems to hate but you love

I don’t know if everyone hated this series, but I don’t hear people talk about it that often, and that is the Sweep series.

A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with OR an OTP that you donโ€™t like

Hmmm… I think I’ll just answer with this: Love triangles are annoying ๐Ÿ˜‚

A popular book genre that you hardly reach for

Sci-Fi, unless it’s mixed with elements from other genres (Think An Unkindness of Ghosts).

A popular or beloved character that you do not like

I don’t know why, but the first person who came to mind was Kelsier from Mistborn… but is he beloved? Do I not like him? We’ll just leave him here for now.

A popular author that you canโ€™t seem to get into

Colleen Hoover, Sarah J. Maas… I’m sure there are others, but those were the first two that came to mind ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

A popular book trope that you’re tired of seeing

I’ve been jumping around different genres for a while, so there aren’t any particular tropes that stand out to me. One of the benefits of not necessarily being too much of a genre reader I guess ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

A popular series you have no interest in reading

Well, since I already said I don’t like Sarah J Maas (I’m trying to keep this as easy as possible for my tired little brain, okay??? ๐Ÿ˜ซ), I’ll just go with the A Court of Thorns and Roses series… or whatever the actual series title is ๐Ÿ˜‚

The saying goes, โ€œThe book is always better than the movieโ€, but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?

Cloud Atlas! I loved the movie way more than the book

Thanks for checking out my answers for this tag, and if you have any unpopular opinions you want to share, let me know in the comments below!

Otherwise, I will see you in the next post!
