Poetry Prompt #7

Welcome back to Poetry Prompt Monday!

For this weeks prompt, I’m going back to the 125 Of The Best Poetry Writing Prompts For Poets for inspiration! This weeks prompt will be…

A day you laughed through the tears

Here’s what I came up with, I hope you enjoy!

There are days where it’s a struggle,

Going one minute to the next.

Where I wish for the day to end,

Yet I don’t want my time taken so quickly,

Tears that haven’t been shed,

Threatening to fall at any moment,

Or that’s how it was,

Until the numbness overtakes my body.

Then here you come,

The happiness I needed,

Casually strolling in,

As though my world isn’t,

Just about to fall apart.

The smile spreading across your face,

Awakens something,

I didn’t know was still there.

The light I thought was extinguished,

Blazing triumphantly in me again.

Well, that’s all for today’s post! Thank you again for reading, and I will see you again on Wednesday with a new post!
