BEDIO: First Week Update

Hello everyone!

Since today is Saturday, it has officially been one week since Blog Everyday In October started 🎉

I don’t know if I’ll do weekly updates throughout the entire month, but I at least wanted to do one for the first week (possibly because I don’t have anything ready for today… but that’s not important).

My first observation is that it’s a lot more difficult for me to keep up with my BEDIO challenge this year than it was when I last did it in 2020. Back then, I had already prepped my first two weeks worth’s of posts, and I had also posted for Banned Books Week which took place the last week of September (and actually some of my Banned Books Week posts fell into BEDIO 2020). This year though, with work and finishing my masters, I had a more difficult time doing that prep work. Even though I am still able to get posts out everyday and I had some scheduled beforehand, I’ve noticed that I have had to write more during October than I did previously. I guess it’s not necessarily a bad thing, and is more in the spirit of blogging everyday since I am actually writing the posts in October.

I’ve also noticed that I don’t feel as pressured to be creative (?) I guess is the word. Since I have been trying to get back into the groove of blogging this year, I’m allowing myself to just post whatever I want, including this post, which basically is just me rambling on about myself 😂 I appreciate this more relaxed feeling I have though, because it reminds me of how fun blogging can be. There’s nothing like being able to put my thoughts out into the world, without worrying about getting a bunch of people to read my posts, or that my sentences are structured properly and perfectly. I can just write. It brings back a certain feeling of joy and excitement to write for my blog, and I actually miss posting on here.

On a final note, I’m hoping BEDIO helps with trying to post things other than WWW Wednesdays and Top Ten Tuesdays. Even though these are fun tags, I want to get back into posting Creative Dumping Ground posts, and more posts centered around creative writing.

Overall, BEDIO has been treating me well so far, and I’m hoping between work and my other commitments, I’m able to actually keep posting everyday 🤞

That’s about all I have for today’s post, I just wanted to get out some of the thoughts I’ve been having about my BEDIO experience so far, and I’m hoping it helps me continue with posting for the rest of the month 😊

On that note, I hope you’ve been having a good week and a great start to your weekend! I will see you tomorrow with a new post (:
