WWW Wednesday (But Make It About TV Shows) (06/15/2022)

Hey everyone and welcome back to another WWW Wednesday!

As you can tell from the title, this WWW Wednesday is going to be different from my previous posts, because well… I haven’t been reading as much 🤷‍♂️ I started both The Well Of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson and The Song Of Achilles by Madeline Miller, but haven’t gotten that far into them. I’m liking both stories, but I just haven’t felt like reading, and sometimes it is what it is. I have, however, been watching some TV shows, and I figure, “Why not talk about them?”

So, here are the TV shows I’ve finished watching, that I’m currently watching, and what I plan on watching!

What I Finished Watching

I mentioned in one of my previous WWW Wednesday’s that I was watching season 4 of Stranger Things, and so UPDATE… I finished it. Although there were some characters that didn’t seem to be developed past being a stereotype (mainly El’s bullies), the villain for this season was really good, and his backstory is 👌 Overall, I liked this season better than both 2 and 3, but I think season 1 will always be my all time favorite.

The second show I finished watching was First Kill. First Kill is based off a novella written by Victoria Schwab back in 2020 and was a part of the short story collection, Vampires Never Get Old: Tales With Fresh Bite which was edited by Zoraida Córdova and Natalie C. Parker. It features stories from author famous authors including Dhonielle Clayton, Julie Murphy and Rebecca Roanhorse.

First Kill is a teen vampire story that revolves around the romance between vampire Juliette Fairmont and monster hunter Calliope Burns. Everyone was talking about it because of the lesbian representation with Juliette and Calliope’s romance, so I decided to watch it. It brought me back to middle school/high school, and back in the days when I was obsessed with stories revolving around witches, vampires and anything supernatural (yet I wasn’t a big Twilight person for some reason 🤷‍♂️). Overall, it was a fun teen drama about vampires, monsters and monster hunters, and I had fun watching it!

What I’m Currently Watching

Although I’m caught up with all the episodes, since there are new ones still being released, I figure this is a good place to put Obi-Wan Kenobi. So far I’ve been enjoying the series, especially compared to Book of Boba Fett. The Mandarlorian is still my favorite of the new Star Wars series that have been released recently, but the premise of Obi-Wan Kenobi and following his journey a decade after the end of Episode III is interesting.

What I Plan On Watching

My best friend and I started watching a similar documentary about the FLDS cult that was ran by Warren Jeffs called Preaching Evil: A Wife On The Run With Warren Jeffs (HBO). She also recommended I watch this one as well, so it’s on my list, especially as we didn’t end up finishing the other documentary. I haven’t watched any sort of true crime documentaries (well, this might not be considered true crime, but I guess more of just a documentary about cults? I don’t know), so I’m keen to start watching this one.

Alright, that’s all I have for today! I know WWW Wednesdays typically are discussions about books, but since I’ve been needing a little reading break, I thought discussing the shows I’ve been watching would be fun!

What are you currently watching, or want to watch? Any recommendations? Let me know in the comments!

Other than that, I will see you all in the next post!
