BEDIO: Poetry Prompt #11

Hey everyone, welcome back to a new week! Hopefully your Monday is off to a great start πŸ˜„

Since it’s Monday, that means it’s time for another Poetry Prompt! Today’s prompt is actually brought by yours truly ✌ When I was coming up with ideas for Blog Everyday In October, I came up with different themes to center my Halloween/spooky around, and one of the themes (which also happens to be today’s theme… who would have thought) was masks and costumes.

If you want to join in the fun, then go right on ahead! You can either type your poem(s) in the comments below or link to your post, I would love to see what y’all come up with!

Now, let’s get on to the poetry!

Why is Halloween such a popular holiday?

Why do people find it fun?

For kids,

It’s a time to dress up with their friends,

And go out at night for some candy.

Screams echoing in the air,

As they run,

From one spookily decorated house,

To the next.

For the adults,

It’s a time to forget about your troubles,

Have a fun Halloween drink,

Have a party with friends,

Or watch scary movies,

All cuddled up,

With that special someone.

It’s a time for spookiness,

And a time to play a part,

Outside of your comfort zone.

So throw on a mask,

And slip on a costume,

Go ahead,

Just play pretend for one night,

And have a little fun.

That’s about all I have for today! Thank you for stopping by, and I will see you tomorrow with something new!
