2023 Reading Wrap-Up

Hey everyone, and Happy New Year! 🎉đŸĒŠ

I hope you all had a fun and safe holiday season (:

I went onto Storygraph today and saw my 2023 wrap-up, so I decided to go ahead and share it here.

For those who may not know, my reading goal for 2023 was 65 books, and I failed miserably 😅 But that’s okay! I still read 39 books in 2023, which is pretty good, considering how much of the year I spent in a reading slump.

Other than that, I had a pretty good reading year, picking up quite a few new authors and just finding some fun reads to enjoy throughout the year as well.

If you’re interested, you can check out my 2022 Reading Wrap-Up here!

On that note, here is my 2023 Storygraph Wrap-Up!

The Image Says: "Your 2023 Reading Wrap-Up
Congratulations on a wonderful reading year!

You finished 39 books, across 11,572 pages!

The first book you finished in 2023 was 'The Hero of Ages' by Brandon Sanderson. The last book you finished in 2023 was 'Love, Holly' by Emily Stone."
This is an image depicting a graph showcasing whether the books I read throughout the year were lighter or darker.

The caption below says: "You rode a rollercoaster of emotions, enjoyed some lighthearted fun, and embarked on exciting adventures. And most of the stories developed at a steady pace."
This image depicts two graphs, one which is the Books and pages read per month, and the other are the top genres I read in 2023. I read the most in February/March, and the top genres I read were Romance, Fantasy, LGBTQIA+, YA, and Contemporary.
The Image Says:
"The average length of the books you read was 307 pages. and it took you around 11 days to finish each book."

The longest book I read was Hero of Ages by Sanderson at 724 pages. The shorted book I read was Golden Hills by Jennifer Weiner.
The Image shows the amount of days I spent reading a book. The least time I spent reading a book was "They Called Us Enemy" by George Takei, where I read it in only 1 day. The longest amount of time I spent reading a book was 172 days for The Hero of Ages.
This image has a graph showing the authors I read the most in 2023. In order from most to least, it was Juan Diaz Canales, Lana Harper, and Jenny Hale.
My average rating for the year was 4.25 stars.
This image shows a chart depicting my ratings, and my five star read highlighted here is Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse.
The Image Says:
"You explored the works of 32 new authors, including Xiran Jay Zhao, Rebecca Roanhorse, and Rachel Lacey!

16 of the books you read were part of a series."
The Image Says:

"It was only new stories and ideas for you this year. No rereads!"

"You decided not to finish 1 of the books you picked up this year."

That book was This is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone

And here are all the books I read in 2023:

This is an image showing all the books I read this year, including "Dial A for Aunties," The Final Girl Support Group" and "A Place for Us."

Now that we’ve gone over my 2023 reading stats, I’m going to go ahead and set my goal for 2024.

Since I didn’t reach 65 books in 2023, I’m going to go ahead and keep that as my goal, especially as there are quite a few books I’m excited to read this year! I got some great books for Christmas, and I can’t wait to dive into them. Plus, I’m taking advantage of Kindle Unlimited so I can reduce the amount of physical books I have, and I’m hoping it helps.

How many books did you read last year? Did you find a new favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next post!

-Erin (:
