Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Summer 2022 TBR

Hey everyone, and happy Tuesday (haha oops… I only now just realized that I scheduled this to go up on Wednesday instead of Tuesday 😖)!

I know I haven’t participated in the past couple of Top Ten Tuesdays, but I really wanted to write a post for this one, so here we go!

Now that summer is here, it’s time to start thinking about what I want to read this season 👌 As I’ve mentioned hundreds of time on this blog, I am a mood reader, so this isn’t necessarily a strict list of what I’ll read, but more of a list of books that sound like fun to read… as of right now 😂 I’m also hoping that this will encourage me to start reading again, as I’ve been in quite the reading slump recently. Maybe reminding myself of all the cool books I need to read will be a good way to get myself out of this slump 🤔 I guess we’ll see!

I’m going to probably also take some of the books from my Spring 2022 TBR that I haven’t read yet, as I still want to read them… so why not try to read them this summer 🤷‍♂️

Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl hosts Top Ten Tuesday’s every week, so go check out her blog (where you’ll also find more bloggers who participated in that weeks round of Top Ten Tuesday)!

Now that I’ve wrote an essay for an intro, let’s talk books!

First we’ll start off with some of the books that I didn’t get to this spring (I talk about them more extensively in my Spring 2022 TBR):

I actually started The Song of Achilles, and I want to finish it!

Now let’s get into the rest of the list!

I will say, that a few of the books listed below I started reading, but haven’t finished, so I’m hoping I get to actually finishing them!

The Well Of Ascension

I read a couple chapters after I gave myself a break after reading Mistborn, and then… I didn’t pick it back up again 😂This was around the time my reading slump began, so that’s the main reason. I was going to pick up The Song Of Achilles and read that before getting back to The Well Of Ascension, but well… I never finished reading The Song Of Achilles either 🤣 As of right now, I’m considering this to be either the second or third book I read after I finish The Song Of Achilles.

The Only Good Indians

I started The Only Good Indians back in October of last year, and after reading a few chapters, I put it down and never went back to finish it 😂 It was a good story, but I mentally was just not in the space to read it. I’m hoping that as summer continues on, I’ll be in a better headspace because I think the story is really interesting, and I do actually want to finish it!

When No One Is Watching

I added this on one of my WWW Wednesday posts, but never got around to reading it… and that’s it 🤷‍♂️ I’m hoping to get to it this summer though! Or this year in general…

Last Night At The Telegraph Club

I got this before leaving Barnes and Noble, and it’s been sitting on my shelf staring at me, waiting to be read. I know it’s super popular on BookTok… and yeah I bought into the hype 😂 Here’s to hoping that it lives up to it!

Winter’s Orbit

Another book I bought before leaving Barnes and Noble, but I actually got it because it was one of the monthly picks back in February or January (I don’t remember… ooops). It was pitched to me as Dune, but gay, and just an overall space opera, which sounds interesting to me! I haven’t read Dune, but the rest of the description really got my attention, so once again, I’m hoping it lives up to the hype 🤞

Cazadora

This is the sequel to Lobizona, which I read back in October of 2020 for Fortnight Frights. Lobizona by Romina Garber, is a fantasy novel revolving around Manu, an undocumented Argentine with a mysterious past. As she goes on a journey to discover her family’s history, she uncovers a whole other world that inspired Argentinian folklore. I enjoyed the first book, and I’m hoping that the sequel is just as good!

And that’s it for today’s Top Ten Tuesday! In the comments, let me know what are some of your most anticipated reads for this Summer (:

And don’t forget to check out That Artsy Reader Girl’s post, where you can also find more bloggers who participated in this weeks Top Ten Tuesday! If you want to participate in future Top Ten Tuesday’s, check out this list!

On that note, thanks for checking out my list, and I will see you all in the next post ✌

    1. I definitely recommend the series, it’s a great YA fantasy and I love how the Argentine folklore is tied into the story!
